THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH A RETAKE OPPORTUNITY IS TO INSURE STUDENTS STRIVING FOR CONTENT MASTERY HAVE MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES TO REACH THEIR DESIRED GOAL.
Retake Policy Details: Retake requests should only be for Summative Assessments. In order to request a retake, follow the steps below.
1) Reach out to your teacher. You can do this in person face-to-face or by email. Explain which Summative Assessment you would like to retake. 2) The teacher will meet with you and go over your Summative Assessment with you. This is a chance to ask questions and clarify anything you were struggling with in that unit.
3) The teacher will assign you a practice task (IXL, worksheet, online game, etc.) so you can continue working on that skill before doing your retake assessment.
4) Once you have completed your practice task, notify your teacher and they will give you the retake assessment. You will take this in either tutorial (if you have it) or during math class. Your retake score will replace your summative score in the gradebook (only if it is higher than the previous score).
